BRAND DESIGN

My approach to my brand has been to cultivate a unified and refined identity which extends to everything I use to present myself - from banners, to business cards, and even the website you're on right now.

One-page documents are my preferred method of communicating complex ideas.  The above are examples from some of my other projects - Press_Space was a single-input game jam game, "The School" is one of three levels in Syke, and Delver was a project for a design class.  I do want to note that many of these designs predate my understanding of grid-based design, and they will be updated as I continue to improve my skills.

cracking the grid

Reading Grid Systems in Graphic Design by Josef Müller-Brockmann has proven to be foundational in my approach to graphic design.  My resume has been a sticking point in my graphic design journey for several years - this is a document that must be human and machine readable, concise yet detailed, visually interesting, and professional.  It's basically the ultimate design challenge, and I love working on it.  I've included a progress gif of my iterations as I read  Grid Systems , because I just love the way you can see my resume go from a  messy word-soup to a refined document - and I'm excited to continue this iteration!
